Come to Daku Resort to find the timeless magic of Fiji. Set in an old coconut plantation overlooking Savusavu Bay, life at Daku follows a gentle, relaxing pattern, and you’ll soon feel like family. In Fiji, we’re a one of a kind “upscale budget” resort– where you’ll have an ocean view from your own traditional style bure. Woven into our vintage atmosphere we also have the best parts of a modern holiday – recently refurbished bures, snorkelling, boating, kayaking – and lazing by the pool with a drink.
Location
Savusavu is located on Fiji s second largest island, Vanua Levu. It s a 50 minute scenic flight from Nadi. You ll land on a beautiful little airstrip by the sea. Town is about a 2 minute taxi ride to Daku Resort.
Accommodation
If your budget isn’t huge, but your tastes have moved on from backpacker dorms, then Daku is for you.
We have a variety of accommodation, set in our beautiful tropical gardens with spectacular views of Savusavu Bay. All units have been refurbished over the last two years.

All units include private shower and toilet, and are equipped with overhead fans, mini bar, and tea and coffee making facilities. Our guests say it’s like having a vacation home where you come to unwind.
RATES
Our rates are per unit, NOT per person and include VAT. Govt hospitality tax of 5% is payable.
Dining & Entertainment
Breakfast is available from 8.00am - you can choose from a tropical (F$15) or cooked (F$22) breakfast.
Snacks,lunch & dinner are available all day, ranging from FJ$10-$25. We have regular special resort dinners, serving Fijain, Indian and Chinese food buffet style, and encouraging all our guests to sit together and meet each other.
We have a Meal Plan available - F$55 per person per day for a tropical or cooked breakfast, a light lunch (sandwiches or meat pie and salad) & dinner.
There are also a number of small inexpensive restaurants and cafes in town with seafood, steak, curry, chinese and pizza just minutes away.
Groups & Conferences
We also run holiday study courses in a range of areas: writing, painting, singing, stitching, birding. Each one is taught by an experienced teacher, usually from Australia, and runs for 5 - 6 days. Check out the website for more details.
Daku is ideal for groups- business, educational, volunteer, etc... The spacious open lounge, patio and pool area is perfect for hosting meetings, parties, and group dining. There is a large bar and spit roasting pit/barbecue available as well.
Activities
Activities: snorkelling, kayaking, fishing, waterskiing, boat trips, cycling, hiking; village tours. Nearby golf and tennis by arrangement.
Or just hang out at the pool, write your novel in the lounge, walk into town for a seafood pizza at the yacht club, lay on your bed and read books.
Weddings
Finally an affordable Fiji wedding! A perfect, intimate garden/ocean setting for your wedding and/or reception. Ideal accommodation for family and friends. And yes, you can rent the entire resort!
Diving
The reefs off Savusavu are spectacular. We can arrange diving trips with L’Aventure at Jean-Michel Cousteau, Koro Sun Dive or Rock’n’Downunder, all experienced local dive operations.

Payment Policies
Cash, Visa, Mastercard & American Express
Deposits
A 20% deposit is required within 7 days of booking to confirm your reservation. Full payment is then required 45 days prior to your arrival. If your reservation is made within 45 days of your arrival, we require payment in full at the time of your booking.
Once your deposit is made, Daku Resort will issue a written confirmation of receipt.
If full payment is not made 45 days prior to your arrival, Daku Resort reserves the right to cancel any reservation without notice.
Cancellations and Refunds
Daku Resort requires that any cancellations be received in writing. On receipt of your written cancellation, the following charges apply:
More than 45 days prior to arrival – 25% of deposit retained
45 to 31 days prior to arrival – one night’s accommodation fee for every bure or self-contained unit cancelled
30 to 15 days prior to arrival – two nights accommodation fee for every bure or self-contained unit cancelled
14 days or less prior to arrival – full charge for all nights cancelled
No refund is available for non-arrivals or early departures.
